The Birbal Planters are inspired by the Mughal King Akbars legendary courtier Birbal, who was known to outsmart his way through difficult situations using wit and humour. The planters re-contextualise the humour of the khichadi pot in the folktale; Birbal Ki Khichadi. They demonstrate how a small ray of hope is enough to inspire hard work to create dreams into a reality. Handcrafted from brass and marble, Birbal Planters nest a fine terracotta liner for you to create beautiful gardens in two versions: Tabletop and Hanging .
